FOR RICHER OR POORER
Review by Andrew Manning (12/97)

Release: 1997, Universal
Starring: Tim Allen, Kirstie Alley, Wayne Knight, Marla Maples, Larry Miller
Director: Bryan Spicer
MPAA Rating: [PG-13] language, sexuality
Genre: Comedy

SUMMARY

To escape the IRS, Brad and Caroline Sexton (Allen and Alley) hide out among the Amish.

WHAT'S GOOD

This movie is a lot of fun. Tim Allen is his usual hilarious self, and Kirstie Alley (she of the Perpetually Cool Hair) hasn't been this entertaining since her run on Cheers. The jokes flow effortlessly from the two, and there's tons of material for them given the setting.

WHAT'S BAD

It's a little predictable at times, and some of the jokes are stereotypical, along the lines of the comedy in King Pin; however, that doesn't stop it from being one of the best comedies of the year.

Rating: 7 out of 10 (0=Abysmal, 5=Average, 10=Excellent)
